The Bureau of Customs, Port of Davao, in coordination with its Value-Added Service Providers (VASP), hosted a webinar on the proper lodgment of e-manifests last December 2, 2020.
Participated by various shipping lines, logistic companies, and several customs brokers, the virtual dialogue aims to address issues on the duplicity of bills of lading (BL) causing unnecessary cases of abandoned BL’s in the e2m system of BOC.
Meanwhile, according to Customs Davao District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino Austria, the Bureau is taking measures to address this issue by closely coordinating with the Port’s VASPs.
“This webinar allowed us to give adequate guidance to our stakeholders and avoid duplication of BLs that are unintentionally created by the erroneous lodgment in the system” Atty. Austria said.
Resource speakers from the Cargo Data Exchange Center (CDEC) Inc., and e-KONEK Pilipinas discussed among others, topics such as the current procedures of lodging and amendment of e-manifests and system ruling of abandonment, all of which are part of the BOC Davao’s drive to strengthen its mandate in trade facilitation and BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero’s priority programs leading BOC to a world class Customs service.
