BOC Davao Talks Rightsizing and Learning Programs with DAP

The Bureau of Customs - Port of Davao (BOC-POD) and the Development Academy of the Philippines sa Mindanao (DAP sa Mindanao) had a collaboration meeting regarding the plan for restructuring and rightsizing the Port of Davao, in line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s National Government Rightsizing Program (NGRP).



Furthermore, the Offices also discussed the intervention of learning and development programs that aims to invest in capacitating the personnel of this Port. This will enable the Office to be more efficient and more responsive to the demands of the stakeholders and the economy.


The collaboration meeting was held last October 11, 2022 at Customshouse, Km. 10 Sasa Wharf, Davao City and was attended by Mr. Mark Lemuel L. Garcia, the Managing Director of DAP sa Mindanao who discussed the mandate of DAP as the training arm of the government. For BOC, District Collector Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria, CESO V shared its accomplishments and initiatives, such as conducting Time Release Study (TRS), and ISO Certification and Performance Governance System (PGS) enrollment which standardized the operational and administrative processes in the Bureau.



BOC Davao, under the leadership of District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria and BOC Commissioner Yogi Filemon L. Ruiz will continue to collaborate with partner agencies to enhance trade facilitation efforts that can help boost the economic development of Davao, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s plans for a better and globally competitive Philippines.
