BOC Davao steps up anti-illegal drug campaign for 2021

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Davao intensifies its efforts for the year 2021 to help protect Davao Region from the entry of drugs as well as carry-out the Duterte’s administration campaign to counter the adverse effects brought by these prohibited commodities.


Last January 7 and 18 2021, BOC Davao District Collector Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria led the coordination meeting with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XI where the two offices discussed matters on strengthening border control and surveillance at the areas of responsibility of BOC Davao.


One of the highlights of the meeting was the deployment of K9-units at the seaports and airport entries of Collection District XII. Each port will have one K9 handler and one Narcotic Detection Dog (NDD) that will conduct sniffing inspection to suspicious shipments.


Also, the Port of Davao in a controlled delivery operation with Ninoy Aquino International Airport-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADTG) and Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF) and PDEA ROXI, apprehended last February 4, 2021, two claimants of 494 tables of Ecstasy, 25 pieces of suspected Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and one gram of Kush Marijuana among others at their residence in Barangay 19-B Bacaca Road, Davao City.





BOC Davao under Collection District XII will continue its intensified coordination with its partner enforcement agencies to protect its areas of responsibility against the entry of prohibited drugs and other commodities who pose threat to the welfare of the nation.
