The Bureau of Customs (BOC), Port of Davao underwent an orientation for ISO 9001:2015 on February 18, 2021 as part of its on-going preparation for the upcoming ISO audit on or before the second week of March 2021. This is part of the Commissioner’s 10-point priority program to make all Collection District Offices ISO certified.

The orientation was facilitated by the Chief of the Customer Care Center (Port of Manila), Mr. Joel Espejo, where he briefed the members of the Port of Davao ISO team led by BOC Davao District Collector Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria. The topics discussed during the briefing were the phases of ISO Certification and the guidelines on the document preparation.

These will be vital in the preparation for the ISO certification wherein the Port will identify the processes and services that will qualify for ISO certification.

The Port has long been implementing ICT projects such as the creation of its Customer Care Center (CCC) and the implementation of the Electronic Tracking of Containerized Cargoes (E-TRACC) among others, all of which are aimed to enhance trade facilitation services, strengthen border control, and effectively collect lawful revenues for the government.
