BOC Davao discuss Customs Clearance Process in Davao AgriTrade Expo 2022

Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Davao led by District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria CESO V discussed BOC’s customs clearance process in the 24th Davao AgriTrade Expo (DATE 2022) with the theme “Innovative Agribusiness: Achieving Productivity and Sustainability for Food Security” on September 29-30, 2022.



This aims to educate micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and encourage them to engage in the international trade industry and showcase their products in the global market.



Highlighted during his talk are the processes to import and export products, including accreditation, document requirements, permits, and incentives and privileges they may avail for the exemption of duties and taxes.



Also, the Expo, focusing on services made easy with digitalization, Atty. Austria shared BOC’s automated processes and transactions, now made online through the BOC Cares Portal System – a tool where clients can submit import and export documents online.



With over 8,500 visitors, the DATE was participated by several exhibitors from local, national, and international businesses where they showcased their agricultural products and services which also aim to foster business matching, digital marketing, and knowledge sharing through agri-conferences.



BOC, through the leadership of District Collector Atty. Austria and Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz strongly support the mission of the DATE as part of its trade facilitation mandate, ever more strengthened by its core private and public partners such as the City Government of Davao and the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCCII) all of which are inline with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. Eight-point economic agenda aimed to cut poverty and to elevate the country’s income status.
